Fra korsika til Danmark
Kalliste Vin
I am writing to you from Denmark, as an importer and exclusive ambassador for Corsican wines.
My desire to start this business is, of course, clearly influenced by my history and experiences as Corsican.
Grandson of a Corsican winegrower from Sartenais, I remember family meals where there was always a bottle of island wine on the table.
My grandfather, Don-Louis, passed on to me his passion for the land and for perpetuating traditions.
Why bringing Corsican wine to Copenhagen tables?
This adventure is part of that continuity, preserving a centuries-old island culture, but also sharing the rarity of certain grapes with Danish consumers.
"To Don Louis — This family story goes with a desire to raise awareness and recognition of the island's wine culture."
Why did we choose to call us Kalliste?
Kalliste or “the most beautiful” is how the ancient Greeks described Corsica. This name is a tribute to the renown of this island in the heart of the Mediterranean. The island was already mentioned in Homer's Odyssey as the land of the Laestrygonians, a race of giants whose origins are attributed to Corsica.
